Life/Ware home automation media servers and extenders from Exceptional Innovation (EI) serve as the intelligence for a whole-house automation system or a powerful media server added to any entertainment center or home theater.

EI certifies interfaces to industry leading audio/video distribution products, lighting and climate controls, as well as security and surveillance systems. This architecture allows you to protect existing investments in automation devices or provides a flexible array of choices for a complete new automation system. While EI technology is heavily software-based they do offer a complement of core hardware devices. In addition to the Life/Ware Media Servers, EI also provides:

• Life/Controller home automation extended control system running on embedded Windows XP with a 40 GB hard drive,
• Life/Point In-Wall 8.9" & 12.1" HD Touch Panels,
• Life/Storage external arrays providing up to another 2.25 TB of media storage,
• Life/Link for converting 3rd party security systems or automation devices into ethernet-connected, discoverable web services units, and
• LIfe/Vision video distribution server providing up to 4 TV streams to each Life/Point panel with built-in DVR and a R/W DVD drive on the front panel.

The end result is a product line enabling Dealers to configure home entertainment and automation systems starting around $5k installed up $50k depending on the degree of automation desired. The top end of the range would represent a 4000 sq ft complete smart home with HDTV and stereo audio distribution throughout, all lights and thermostats automated, some level of automated window coverings and a home digital media server with 5 TB of storage.
