The recession-buster feature of free movie downloads from Netflix is greatly enhanced with an integrated Windows Media Center PC in your entertainment center.

The above screen shot shows the award-winning Windows Media Center (WMC) top level menu with the Netflix icon highlighted on the TV + Movies row next to the icon for recorded TV shows. After you enter your Netflix logon information the first time, a single click on the above icon produces the screen below showing all the movie selections you have added to your Instant Queue. You can then scroll horizontally to select a film for instant download. After a short wait while the Microsoft Silverlight Player v3 examines your connection speed and buffers the beginning of the movie, your watching the film on your flat-panel monitor or a connected widescreen TV.
If you haven't built up your instant queue yet, you can use this same interface to browse various movie libraries organized by genre on the Netflix web site to select the free movies you wish to watch. This great feature is available once you sign up for any Netflix DVD subscription, even with the entry level subsciption for less than $10 a month. And you can use the WMC remote instead of the mouse to navigate through the Netflix site.

Remember any Vista Home Premium or Vista Ultimate PC includes WMC. If your PC has a video output card or your widescreen TV has a PC VGA input you will be able to connect your WMC PC to your TV if you co-locate both devices in your entertainment center or run the appropriate cable to extend the video connection.
