The 7” touch screen is very bright and easy to read and has a widescreen design to complement all of the new HDTV’s. It includes proximity sensors so it can turn on when the homeowner walks up to it. It includes 4 hard buttons that can be assigned to various tasks, and even has an audio out for streaming music to a localized amplifier.

Ease of Installation
Control4 gear is only available to dealers, but the touch screen is fairly easy to install in a retrofit situation. It can receive it’s power over an Ethernet cable, or can be hard wired into a power source nearby. Usually you will need an electrician to pull the power depending on local laws.

Home Automation Product Reliability
As of current, I have had no problems with the touch panels. To take advantage of some feature you will need to update your software. Control4 offers a 2 year warranty on all of their products.
