Logitech Harmony 880

Great product to simplify your life but charging can be tricky.

Overall Rating: 7.7 out of 10

Home Automation Product Features

This remote is an excellent choice for the person who needs simplified control of their A/V equipment. The remote features control via IR, up to 15 components of control, one touch programs, and customizable buttons. The remote is backlit for ease of use in darker scenarios, comes with a rechargeable battery, and charging dock.

Ease of Installation

Although programming can get tricky when you dip into some of the advanced features, almost anyone can program this unit. The remote is programmed via software included when you purchase the remote. Simply load the software on your computer and the software will walk you through the programming steps. You will need the model numbers of your equipment, how the equipment is connected, and which component controls what aspect of your system (volume, channel selection).

Home Automation Product Reliability

The remote overall is very reliable and end user friendly. Our only complaint at this time would be the charging cradle. After installing over 50 of these remotes we have seen about 9 charging cradles that do not operate properly. It is definitely a design error of the cradle although the company will never admit that. When you set the remote in the cradle it should make contact with the charging ports. In some cases this does not happen and you are suddenly holding a dead remote.

The Harmony 880 comes with a one year warranty.
